Keeping Your Car In Tip-Top Shape

“An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure.” This does not only apply to the health of humans but also to the condition of your car as well. By maintaining the health of your car, you can be assured that it will stay in tip-top shape and give you less car troubles. Not only this, a car that is well maintained produces lesser pollution and is more economically in terms of gas consumption.

In performing a car maintenance, the first step is to create a checklist of all the things you need to check on. You could include the coolant level, the engine oil, CV joints, automatic transmission fluid, and the tire pressure.

Changing your engine oil frequently will help keep your engine running smoothly and keep it in good shape. You can do this every 3,000 to 5,000 miles depending on the type of car you have.

Another important aspect that most people overlook is the exterior of your car. Too busy with fidgeting with the insides like the engine, people sometimes forget to give proper care exteriorly. Give your car a wash regularly to remove dirt that it may have accumulated. Applying protective wax on it will not only keep it looking great and shiny, but will also give added protection from harsh weather conditions.

Cleaning the interior of the car is also a must to give your car a proper maintenance. This is not only for the sake of the care but for the sake of the passengers as well. Accumulated dirt inside the car can become detrimental to the health of people especially those who have respiratory conditions and allergies.

Another tip in keeping your car in tip-top shape is to always be wary if something seems to be wrong with it. This can be persistent sounds from the engine or the chassis, unusual vibrations, leaking and shaking. You need to consult a professional mechanic right away. It would better to have your car diagnosed early while the problem is still small and repairable. Do not wait for the condition to worsen.
