Clear the Air of Pet Odors
If you were trying to get rid of pet odors inside your homes, you would know that being out of sight does not necessarily mean out of scent. Even though you cannot see the mess, you can still smell the pungent odor that comes with it.
Unfortunately, most household cleaners do not really remove the strong odor that results from the various unpleasant substances that your pet may have left on your carpet or hardwood floor. More often than not, these cleaners only mask them.
No worry though, you do not have to endure a home that smells like zoo. Experts from the field of veterinary medicine and chemistry have come up with methods that will help you eradicate the stubborn pet stains and their lingering odors.
Major Mess Elimination
The key to doing away with the stink is timing. A fresh accident that is removed right away will leave fewer odors as compared to what is left by something that has been left for some time. Make sure that you are alert in watching out for your pet’s mess. By using a plastic bag or paper towel, scoop up the poop as soon as you see it. Throw it away in an outdoor trash can that is covered.
On the other hand, urine is more challenging to deal with. What you should do is absorb it. Soak up as much urine as possible by utilizing paper towels or old cotton rags. Continue blotting until such time that there are no visible yellow moisture. Do not rub especially when your pet pee on the carpet. Rubbing will cause the pressure to push the urine even deeper into the fabric or hardwood floor.
After the doing the procedures above, neutralize the remaining odor through the application of enzymatic cleaner for pet stains. Allow the solution to pool on the area then place a paper towel directly on the air and leave until it dries off. While it dries, the residual poop or urine is being eradicated. As for urine soaked linens or any other washable materials, just add a pound of baking soda together with the detergent. Washing with hot water has the tendency to cause disintegration of the fabric, so be sure to use cold water.
