Bad Publicity for Toyota Tacoma

feature photo

Reports say that 431 customers all over the country have reported involuntary or abrupt acceleration in their Toyota Tacoma pickups, which resulted to 12 injuries and 51 crashes. However, the automaker claims that there are no flaws and drawbacks in the trucks and that reports were just stirred by publicity.

Besides, the vehicles have a drive-by-wire system intended to report an error if the throttle and accelerator pedal aren’t matched up. No error codes are found on the trucks that have been examined. Toyota was recognized for having the second highest quality level in the industry this year but the Tacoma has barely been its most consistent product. As a matter of fact, Toyota has been buying back Tacoma models that suffered early rust damage, reimbursing 150 percent of price on open market to the customers.
